LaVern, a registered nurse, serves as the Vice President of Nursing & Patient Services at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, North Carolina. Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center is a 238-bed medical and surgical hospital in Alamance County. Specialized services include heart and vascular, Cone Health Cancer Center,  Cone Health Women’s & Children’s Center (maternity services), as well as advanced imaging and surgical services, among others. Joining Cone Health in 2005, LaVern has been involved in implementing electronic medical records across the network, served on the Cone Health Institutional Review Board, and was part of the steering committee working for re-designating Cone Health hospitals through the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition Program. She has also been active with the Cone Health Diversity and Inclusion Council and with Cone Health’s cultural transformation work.
